Brief Description of Services to be Provided:

Workforce investment services for eligible Adults who are seeking assistance in achieving academic and employment success, effective and comprehensive activities, which shall include a variety of options for improving educational and competencies providing effective connections to employers in the City of Carson.

Target Population/Eligibility

Services will be targeted to Adults - Such individuals shall be considered eligible to participate if he/she is:
  • Eighteen (18) years of age or older
  • Have the right to work in the United States
  • Have selective service registration (male only) and
  • fall within one or more of the following categories:
    • Offender
    • Disabled
    • Older Worker


OUTPLACEMENT SERVICES FOR DISLOCATED WORKERS
Workers laid off either due to plant closure or downsizing, or who have been out of work for prolonged periods, may be eligible to receive retraining/transition services including on-the-job training, classroom training or customized training in demand occupations. Training for dislocated workers is designed to re-employ individuals by developing and matching transferable skills with job opportunities in growth industries.
