Carson Mayor Albert Robles grew up in Carson, played at our local parks and attended local public schools Kindergarten through High School. Albert is the first in his family to graduate from high school, and upon graduating he received a scholarship to attend the University of Colorado at Boulder. During his undergraduate studies, he studied abroad at foreign universities in both Latin America and Europe. Albert Robles graduated from the University of Colorado, where he double-majored in Political Science and Latin American Studies, with a minor in Economics.

Mayor Robles also has a Master's Degree from the University of Southern California, where he was a USC Merit Scholarship recipient, and earned his Juris Doctorate Degree from the University of California at Berkeley.

In addition, Albert has the distinction of having served as a United States Congressional Fellow in Washington, D.C., and at the conclusion of his fellowship he returned to Carson determined to make a difference in public service.

In addition to his academic achievements, Mayor Albert Robles has professional experience working in both the public and private sector. His business background includes being a small business owner, and working as a (i) Community Affairs Manager for a fortune 500 company, (ii) as an associate at one of the country's most prestigious law firms, and (iii) as a consultant for local governments on business development. His public sector experience includes (i) teaching business law at a local community college, (ii) serving as the General Manager of a joint powers authority, (iii) working for a Member of the United States House of Representatives, and (iv) serving on the Board of Directors of the Water Replenishment District of Southern California, which is responsible for managing and protecting our local groundwater that accounts for 50% of the water consumed in Southern California. Albert Robles understands what it takes to create economic development and jobs.

Carson Mayor Albert Robles has also served on the board of directors of numerous non-profit organizations and received numerous certificates of appreciation and recognition from civic, community, and business organizations for his involvement in the community.

On March 5, 2013, Albert Robles was elected to the Carson City Council, and two years later despite being the youngest member of the City Council he earned the confidence of his colleagues and was appointed to the unexpired vacated Mayor. On November 8, 2016, Albert was elected to his first 4-year term as Carson Mayor, and receiving the highest number of votes ever received for any elective office in Carson. He is presently seeking re-election to his second 4-year term as Carson Mayor.
